Breaking up is Hard to Do

Dear Singapore,

I don’t know where or how we went wrong but beautiful as you are, we just aren’t meant to be.We had so many plans for our time together. There would be long strolls and simple hikes through your parks and gardens.

There would be late night dinners at bars and clubs in tall buildings. Late night tours to see all the lights. And shopping. Oh, the shopping. And let’s not forget about the dining options from all around the world.

And the views of all the different buildings which are architectural genius.

It could have been jet lag.   12 hours ahead is hard for the system especially when you add in the 20 hours of total flight time.

Or maybe it was the weather. Not everyone can handle sunshine and 90+ everyday. Especially when Lynn is only in the 40’s. I miss those nights under 4 layers of blankets and sheets.

Either way, you make me sick. And I don’t mean metaphorically. I mean physically, step outside nauseously sick. Like heart pounding, dizzying sick. Take one breath in sick. One bit of breakfast or lunch or dinner sick. Maybe, I should not have drank the water..

Then when I stepped into the airport on my way out, I took a deep breath and just felt so much better. WOW.

Let’s not see each other ever again. Or maybe just a couple of times. You still have to return my kindle.
